VizaCAD is an interface to assemble and translate CAD data incl. feature history and complete parametrisation.
Most CAD systems use unique storage formats, this makes the exchange between different systems extremly hard, even though it is obviously needed. That is why there is a vast ammount of transfer-protocols (DXF, IGES, SAT, STEP, STL, etc.), yet they only can transfer raw geometric data, there will be no features, no parameters und surely no associations, the resulting model is dead by itself. That is an immense drawback, especially for the processes of assembly and refinement.
VizaCAD is our approach to create a structure, which is able to hold and normalise even the most complex CAD data, it is a self-contained CAD-system which brings forth a storage format that is flexible enough to keep up with modern feature standards from a broad palette of definitions. A translated model will be a direct derivative of its original, it will contain the full feature-tree, constraints, parameters, formulas, associations, sketches, datum-elements etc., everything with a highly precise accuracy. Such a file could easily be translated in every of VizaCAD's supported CAD-systems (which are: Unigraphics, Inventor & Catia at the moment).
